About Bailly’s Fuels

Bailly’s Fuels has deep roots in Lunenburg. The Bailly family was among the first settlers. They came as school teachers but like many settlers had to find other ways to make a living. For a time they were Blacksmiths and in 1923 entered the home heating business. The business was founded by Edwin Bailly, great grandfather to current owner Anne Bailly. Throughout the years the Bailly family has always been active in running the business. Three of Edwin’s sons took over the business when Edwin retired, and Graham Bailly eventually worked with his father Arthur (Edwin’s son) from 1964 until Arthur’s retirement in 1979. Anne joined her father, Graham in 1993.

From 1923 until the 1950’s Bailly’s supplied coal and wood, along with a general merchandise items such as flour and feed. Wood was cut into lengths and coal was stored in the same location Bailly’s occupies today. In the 1950’s the main focus of the business became fuel oil, starting with British American, Gulf, Ultramar and then Valero. Currently today Bailly’s is an independent oil distributor, selling as Bailly’s Fuels.

With the addition of Bailly’s Heating Services in 2000, Bailly’s proudly offers a full line of home heating services, from oil delivery to the installation of oil tanks, complete heating systems, and annual furnace servicing.
Over the past 90 plus years there have been many changes in the home heating business but Bailly’s have always and will always be committed to customer service……………our customers are the focus of our business.
