Another blacksmith shop, WA Jefferson, had been housed on the bottom floor of the current Bailly's Fuels, which opened as E. Bailly & Son in 1923. Coal, coke, a sawmill to convert logs to firewood, feed and flour replaced the smithy as Edwin and his son Elvin prospered.
